Exposition "Eclats de courbes"

In a series of canvases where wine glasses and female figures meet, but never merge, the artist explores two worlds that she treats with equal pictorial intensity. Inspired by photographs gleaned from the Internet and magazines, Martine Péraud begins each work with a silent reflection, first laying the black background that will become the setting for her subjects. In her wine-related compositions, she captures the fragile light of the liquid, the transparency of the glass, playing with reflections like an invitation to visual tasting. Her portraits of women, for their part, bear the imprint of artistic references such as Edward Hopper or Cécile Desserle, and reveal women who are free, assertive, sometimes secretive, always strong.
