Exposition Sonnantes et trébuchantes : Mystère autour de la collection de monnaies du musée
The Friday 25 April at 14 a.m00
Avenue George Sand Square George Sand Hôtel de Villaines 36400 LA CHATRE
This exhibition is part of a collaborative project between five sites in the department, entitled "Les Dauvergne, une dynastie d'architectes dans l'Indre (1824-1927)".
The Dauvergne family left their mark on the Indre region through numerous buildings, notably the Palais de Justice and Saint Germain church in La Châtre.
The architects Alfred, Henry and Louis Dauvergne were trained at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. The richness of their careers can only be fully understood if we take into account their schooling in Paris, with the most famous architects of their time. The museum’s exhibition presents previously unpublished early works by the Dauvergnes, and offers a glimpse into the workings of art studies in France at the time.
