Château de Moléans

The Château of Moléans is full of riches. Its main interest resides in the accumulation of different styles resulting from a series of construction campaigns at different times. The general layout forms a U shape. the wing with the outbuildings in stone and brick dates from the 16th century. It is thought to have been designed by Pierre Lescot (Le Louvres, Château of Fleury). The left-hand wing from the 16th century was modified on several occasions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The central part had a horse-shoe shaped staircase. in the 19th century, the château acquired a Neo-Classical appearance in the fashion of the times, while the side facing the grounds became Neo-Baroque. With all these different periods, the château is an open book on the history of art and its many changes.
