Château Guillaume

Château Guillaume is a fortified castle dating back to the 11th and 13th centuries, founded by Guillaume X, Earl of Poitou and Duke of Aquitaine, father of Eleanor of Aquitaine who is said to have been born in this château.
Description
The Romanesque dungeon of the 11th century was extended in the 13th century. The château, demolished under the government of Richelieu, was renovated in the 19th century by the Countess of Beauchamp who is an ancestor of the current owners. There is a harmonious and well conserved part of the buildings of the hamlet which adjoins the château and more specifically the houses with their outdoor staircases, which surround the small Romanesque church.
