In 1436, three gates protected the town. All that remains today is the Porte de Champagne, which was the only way out of the town on the Châteauroux side.
Description
In 1435, following a series of plunders, the canons and inhabitants of Levroux obtained authorization from King Charles VII to fortify the town and levy a special tax to pay for the expenses. In 1436, three gates protected the town.
