ÉguzonIt’s THE event not to be missed in the Creuse Valley! In Éguzon, the Chestnut Festival is a festive occasion to share with family and friends. So get your hiking boots on and set off along the paths, without forgetting, of course, the tasty roasted chestnuts!
Lovely walks and… roasted chestnuts!

Whether the Fête de la Châtaigne d’Éguzon is a not-to-be-missed event or your first, there are always plenty of surprises in store.
In the heart of this natural environment, where the slightly acidic soil is particularly well-suited to chestnut trees, the organisers propose a number of walking itineraries each year. Along the sunken lanes or around Lake Éguzon, choose your walk(s) according to your mood and the distance you wish to cover.
Are you a rider? You and your horse can take part in the festivities by following a trail adapted to your mount.
The Fête de la Châtaigne d’Éguzon is also an opportunity to visit the stands at the annual Salon de la Randonnée. Here you can meet the professionals and get inspiration for your next walks and weekends!
Local products, know-how and events
Every year, the Chestnut Festival puts local flavours at the heart of the events on offer. The exhibitors and craftspeople invited all share a close connection with the chestnut tree and its fruit! Works of art, gastronomy and delicacies…. await you at the stalls lining the streets of the village.
Among them, of course, the chestnut. Peeled, blanched, sweetened, salted… and of course roasted, chestnuts come in all shapes and sizes to suit all tastes! To accompany it, opt for a glass of sweet cider made from apples pressed on site.
Concerts, parades of brotherhoods, music during the day, delicious roasted chestnuts to be savoured without moderation… Activities and walks punctuate these days and have in common a unique atmosphere and conviviality that simply makes you want to come back!
