Departmental Natural Park of Courtils and Mauves

In Meung-sur-Loire, take a walk in the Parc départemental des Courtils et des Mauves.
The Parc départemental des Courtils et des Mauves owes its name to the old gardens used in the past for vegetable cultivation (the courtils) and to the small rivers (the Mauves) crossed by numerous footbridges. The northern part is characterized by a very wet area consisting of willow and poplar forest. Many birds are visible. To the south, the Mauves meet in a single arm. There is also a reed bed suitable for refuge and nesting of local fauna. The meadows are home to melliferous flora. The ewes allow to keep the low herbaceous cover and to ensure an important richness of the insects.
