This area protected by the Conservatory is located on the right bank of the Eure River. Composed of dry grassy areas and woodland, this ecologically important environment stretches over the often steep south-facing slopes.
The Côte de Montreuil is located on the right bank of the Eure, in the commune of Montreuil, in the north of the Eure-et-Loir. The site is part of a long chalky hillside with often steep slopes, facing due south. When they have not been affected by Scots pine plantations, the slopes of Montreuil have fairly well-preserved lawns. The particular climatic and topographical conditions allow the development in certain places of a very rich vegetation.
